The entire life of the city used to be
once confined in this historic center of Baku.
The symbolic buildings are the 12 th century Maiden Tower, the Palace of
Shirvanshahs, once the residence of khans, the ancient city gates, bathhouses.
The walled city of Baku has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List
since 2000.
